The Power of Pride Juneteenth Rope Necklace
Although all of my art in some way is inspired by my African roots, lately I have been called to push myself and create new ways to bring about generational healing . There was a time when we could not embrace our natural hair. There was a time when we could not speak our native tongue or practice our rituals and traditions. The colorful and bold energy of African regalia and culture threatened those in power. So we were forced to hide our culture in order to keep our sense of self alive.
We owe it not only ourselves but our ancestors to walk in joy, pride and power of our culture. I wear my African inspired jewelry not only to showcase its beauty but to also to heal, to reconnect and to remember the power that resides within me. I deserve to reclaim what is mine.
May this piece help you heal, reconnect and walk in your true power.
Happy Juneteenth!!
