The Agbon Of Wisdom Clay Mask Necklace

This year, I took a different approach to Celebrate Black History Month. I wanted to create Pendant Pieces that embody the variations of Black Culture throughout time. 

This piece was designed to embody the Strength, Wisdom and Harvest that was produced from our struggle.  Agbon is the Yoruba word for Basket. Intentionally designed the clay mask of this piece to have a Basket like Turban. This Turban is large and holds all the wisdom that aids us in our growth and development. 

​Both the beadwork and the pendant piece are all handmade. The pendant piece is made of polymer clay and hand painted. 

This piece is 12in in length (from the back of neck to pendant) and has a knot and loop closure.
