Drunkards Path Ancestor Pattern Necklace
In order to guide our Ancestors to freedom during the underground railroad, they would sow patterns into quilts. Each pattern had a specific meaning so when you come across that pattern it would tell you what you need to know in that area to continue the path to freedom.
The Drunkards Path pattern served as a warning to let one know to be cautious and move in a zig zag pattern to avoid danger,
I created these pieces to help keep the history alive but these pieces can also be totem pieces that you can carry with you to help assist you on your journey and also help to connect you to our sacred history.
Happy Juneteenth!!
